When I was brainstorming blog post ideas, this came to mind. I've been an avid reader since I was 8 and read the Harry Potter series - yes, 8. That was 5 years ago! For all of these 5 years I've struggled to find books I want to read. Despite reviews and people publicising books, I've never been able to find exactly what I'm looking for. To fix this idea - cleverly - I've come up with a list of popular books and what you should read next, based on what you have enjoyed!
1. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
I'll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson
Jude and her twin brother, Noah, are incredibly close. At thirteen, isolated Noah draws constantly and is falling in love with the charismatic boy next door, while daredevil Jude cliff-dives and wears red-red lipstick and does the talking for both of them. But three years later, Jude and Noah are barely speaking. Something has happened to wreck the twins in different and dramatic ways . . . until Jude meets a cocky, broken, beautiful boy, as well as someone else—an even more unpredictable new force in her life. The early years are Noah’s story to tell. The later years are Jude’s. What the twins don’t realize is that they each have only half the story, and if they could just find their way back to one another, they’d have a chance to remake their world. This radiant novel from the acclaimed, award-winning author of The Sky Is Everywhere will leave you breathless and teary and laughing—often all at once.
2. Divergent by Veronica Roth
Delirium by Lauren Oliver
Before scientists found the cure, people thought love was a good thing.
They didn’t understand that once love -- the deliria -- blooms in your blood, there is no escaping its hold. Things are different now. Scientists are able to eradicate love, and the government demands that all citizens receive the cure upon turning eighteen. Lena Holoway has always looked forward to the day when she’ll be cured. A life without love is a life without pain: safe, measured, predictable, and happy. But with ninety-five days left until her treatment, Lena does the unthinkable: She falls in love.
3. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
I am Number Four by Pittacus Lore
In the beginning we were a group of nine. They caught Number One in Malaysia.Number Two in England. And Number Three in Kenya. The Mogadorians want to finish what they started. But they’ll have to fight us first.
4. Looking For Alaska / Paper Towns by John Green
Every Day by David Levithan
Every day a different body. Every day a different life. Every day in love with the same girl.
There’s never any warning about where it will be or who it will be. A has made peace with that, even established guidelines by which to live: Never get too attached. Avoid being noticed. Do not interfere. It’s all fine until the morning that A wakes up in the body of Justin and meets Justin’s girlfriend, Rhiannon. From that moment, the rules by which A has been living no longer apply. Because finally A has found someone he wants to be with—day in, day out, day after day.
5. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
We Were Liars by E Lockhart
A beautiful and distinguished family. A private island. A brilliant, damaged girl; a passionate,
political boy. A group of four friends—the Liars—whose friendship turns destructive. A revolution. An accident. A secret. Lies upon lies. True love. The truth.
I hope you enjoyed that! These are all mainstream books but if you enjoyed this post, leave me some feedback in the comments and I'll post another one! Also, I apologise for my inactivity but school has almost ended - 4 more weeks, but only 2 of lessons. Thank you all for reading!
